Hooray for 6 More Weeks of Winter, Oh Wait...

Ok, so its been a while and I was going to update last week but just didn't get around to it. But I have a couple of funny stories from last week, so this one might be kinda long. They also might not be as funny as I thought they were at the time. But this is because I wrote all my notes down on the crossword I was doing in my philosophy class and accidentally threw the paper away. Anyway, I do remember some of it.

For me the funniest thing that happened last week was during the aforementioned philosophy class. For some reason the professor decided to call role during the second week and he did so by calling out last names. Now this professor is a tiny old man and he has just about the most monotone voice I've ever heard, think Ben Stein. Now Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my favorite movies of all time (if you haven't seen it I recommend doing so now, its the epitome of classic teen movies from the 80's) and during one scene Ben Stein is calling roll just like my phil prof did. Now in the movie one of the characters named Cameron Frye is absent so he keeps calling his last name "Frye....Frye....Frye....". And in my class there happened to be a student enrolled with the same last name who also happened to be absent. Now I kid you not, while he was calling roll, my prof sounded exactly like Ben Stein. It was too funny. I actually laughed out loud in class and then felt like a dork for doing so.

Also my phsyics class is too much fun. See I have a professor who's first language is probably not english, and sometimes the way he says things is just too hilarious. Take for instance all of last week. We have been discussing the basics of electronics, boring right. Not when your professor continuously has to vigorously rub the robs to induce a charge. Maybe its just the people I am sitting next to, but there is an absurdly high ratio of "that's what she said" jokes to lecture.

Sadly, I can't remember much more than that. Oh last week one of my teeth that were broken in the accident broke again so I had to go to a local dentist here in town to get another temporary fix before I get my crowns done in May. Anyway, the most frustrating part was that I had an appointment at 8 am on a Wednesday. So I get up at the butt crack of dawn and head out to go to the dentist, which everyone loves doing right when they wake up. Anyway, I got the address and figured that I could find it easily. Wrong, I spent about 20 minutes driving up and down the one stupid road looking for this place that I passed about 10 times. Not the best way to start the day. But the oddest part was that when I finally found the stupid place there was already about 15 people waiting around in the lobby. I just thought to myself 'No way do this many people willingly sign up for dentist appointments at this ungodly hour'. It was amazing since there are about 20 dentists in the whole town, it seems like patients would be a bit more spread out, but I guess a lot of people needed to see a dentists that day or something, who knows.

Other than that not much has been going on. Still trudging through my classes. Well today is the Super Bowl, that's somewhat exciting, except that I'm not watching it. As always I'm stuck at work. It was rather fun, about an hour before the game started my roommates freaked out and wanted to go get pizzas and the 3D glasses that Safeway was giving out. Of course they were out of them though. There was also about 3 billion people at Safeway today. It was like a zoo. The funniest part was before we left all my roommates were running through the suite yelling about what we needed to do. When we left the suite there was a guy sitting out in the lobby outside our door and he just gave us this look when we walked out. One of my roommates went on to explain that we had to get ready for the superbowl and his response was 'Yea, I heard'. Heh, sometimes they forget how sound travels further through dorm walls than normal walls.

As for work, things might be looking up for me. Since they are shutting down the labs in the residence halls I will have to move to another department. I got an email the other day saying they wanted me to job shadow the helpdesk coordinator. Hopefully that would mean a promotion! But who knows.

Well I wrote this yesterday and as of now it is officially Groundhog Day. This morning was hilarious, I was woken up to the song "I Got You Babe" playing on my radio! Now this is funny to any one who has seen the movie Groundhog Day (which I recommend you should!) The real question is will they play it again tomorrow morning? heh. Anyway, that is all for now, sorry this has kinda been the mega post. >_<
