So lately I have been talking with friends, and going to conventions, and I have had a growing feeling that myspace is dying. And while it was nice at first, most of my friends who actually read and followed that blog have now moved on to bigger and better networking sites. And well, as much as I love Facebook, there is an obvious lack of the blog option. It just doesn't work out over there. So that is why I am here.
I have recently returned to WSU for my second year and am ready to move on from the silly bulliten surveys and whinny blogs of my myspace days. I would hope that you (my friends) have come here to check up on me and see how my life has been going. Anyway, I recently went to PAX this labor day weekend. (That's the Penny Arcade Expo, for those you not in the know) It was amazing, it was my first year attending, and I really wish I had gone last year. BUT! This blog is not about PAX, its about some of the things I learned at PAX. I saw that there are many people out there who use blogs for very important things, not just to whine about thier roommates. (not that I'm whining!) So I would like to make this blog a place where people may acutally learn things, like the fact that I just spilled my vitamin water all over my pants. And not just come to hear my emo poems.
So on that note! Here's a snippet of an article I saw on Digg.com today. Its about one of the pannels that was at PAX. But MSNBC made me a bit sad when they edited their quote. True, the author probably would have gotten in trouble for saying "dick" on the MSNBC website, but still, it does lose some of its meaning...

By Kristin KalningGames editorMSNBCupdated 6:08 a.m. PT, Thurs., Sept. 4, 2008If you want to turn your lady friend into a gaming fan, here’s some advice from Xbox Live community manager Christa Phillips: Don’t be a jerk.
Sounds obvious enough, but the statement earned knowing laughs and enthusiastic applause from the standing-room-only crowd gathered for the “How to Get Your Girlfriend Into Gaming” panel at the Penny Arcade gaming convention in Seattle recently.
Really, I wish I had seen this pannel. As a girl who games occasionally, its interesting to see what other girls have to say about what would get me into gaming more. True, I don't play games that as much as many of my male friends, but actually, what the rest of the article suggests sounds fairly right on. If I had a boyfriend, and he wanted to get me more into gaming and followed these suggestions, I probably would game more with him.
And on that note, I am off. I am at the Gannon Lab and am quite bored, but my Physics homework is calling. And I will be updating my myspace blog less and less as the days go on, but will hopefully be updating this one more and more with interesting stories and snippets I find in life and the internet. I will let you know when I have a new blog by updating my facebook status. So to all I wish you good night.
&c.
