Too Lazy to Think of a Witty Title

Right now I am sitting in the lab, working a very boring shift as usual. Not only am I in the least used (yet nicest) lab on campus, but it is Sunday night of a three-day weekend, after the first week of classes. Its like a triple whammy for people not using the lab. Over the last four hours there has been a total of 1 person in the lab using the computers, and she was here before I got here, so I didn't even have to do anything. I really like this lab, and I have the chance to get things done, since no one is ever down here, but sadly I don't have anything to do right now, and its incredibly cold. But, on the the more interesting part.

So there is this guy who also works for the same organization as I do, and he always seemed to find and bother me when I worked in the other lab on the other side of campus. He's kind of a creeper I hate to say, but he always tries to talk to me and I feel bad because its very awkward (me being anti-social and all) ANYWAY, he came into my lab today and was like "we're gonna borrow the study room to play D & D tonight" (great) "Oh and hey, don't I know you from some place? you look very familiar" (heh right, its not like you talked to me everytime I was on shift in the other lab) so I responded saying something witty about returning the room when they were done with it and that I used to work in the other lab. And so he got all excited "oh yea, thats where I remeber you, so what are you doing here?" I respond saying I work here and he proceeds to come over to my desk and start looking at what I was doing on the computer. Luckily I was just watching this cute little video on youtube from an independant film festival. But he just kept trying to talk to me, something about Ian being in the other lab now and I being over here, like we switched or something, I don't know I wasn't really paying attention. Anyway, after that a whole gaggle of creepers walk in and proceeded to set up camp in the dtudy room (great, I have to close around these guys and hope they turn the lights off) Oh and then he started talking about the tape despenser and how it was all art-deco and he'd never seen on like it and had to show his friends, and they were amazed (um, its tape... big wow heh) Anyway, that was incredibly awkward.

So I mentioned its a three-day weekend (exciting!) and me and two of my roommates decided to go to Idaho and visit one of thier homes there. So we drove for like 7 hours to get down there (she claims it only takes 5 1/2 hours, but we did change time zones, threw me all off) and we get there at like 11pm on Friday. We didn't really have the energy to do anything so we all went to sleep. The drive was a lot of fun, I got to chat with my roommate, while my suitemate slept in the back. On Saturday we crammed a ton in, I didn't think there was that much time in the day.

So first me and my roommate got up early (heh like 10) and went to breakfast at this fun little restaurant. Sadly it was really busy so we had to sit at this little counter in the back that was facing a mirror. It was fun, we got to be total creepers. But the awkward part was we sat in the middle and on my right was the little old lady who was there before us and just sat there the whole time drinking coffee, she never got anything to eat. And then on my roommate's left there was this creppy old man who kept trying to talk to her, I felt so bad, but it was too funny. About halfway through my massive pancake two new old men took the seats next to both of us and proceeded to be older and creepier. It was hilarious. After that though we went back and got our suitemate up and went to work out with her family's personal trainer. He was a little too excited to be exercising that day. But I felt bad becuase (first off I hate exercising, so I didn't want to work out) but I didn't bring any workout clothes, so I sat on the side and watched them all workout, it was pretty funny. The trainer kept trying to get me to work out too, it was weird. I liked how he would be talking to one of them, and then would turn around and be like "good job there, keep up the speed" heh when he hadn't even been looking at them.

After that we went to this fun little market and bought some yummy bread and such. Then after going back and showering and such we went to this great little shop in the downtown that was like a vinateg store, but it had new clothes too. I didn't really like the style of most of the stuff there, but I did find this adorable little black dress and got it for only 15$ (there was a mega sale on) Sadly, I don't really have any shoes to wear with it since I fail at being female. But I will have to change that.

Next on our adventure we went to this shady little tattoo and peircing place. It wasn't that scary since it was very well lit, very white, and smelt very clean. But my suitemate wanted to get a second set of peircings on her ears, and I have never had my ears pierced, so I wanted to get that done. It was an adventure to say the least. It took a while and every now and then the tattoo guy kept coming up to us and asking if we needed anything and tried to have a convorsation with us. He was incredibly nice for how he looked. And the lady that did my ears was really nice and did a really good job. The only downside was that they only had scary earrings, so I have these hoops in my ears that look like they would go through a bull's nose or soemthing, but they are growing on me, and I will get to change them soon, so I'm excited.

Then we drove all over the place and got burgers at this crazy place that didn't make sense and walked all over downtown Boise and went to a Coldstone right before they closed. The girl working there closed the door but let us stay and then this whole bunch of silly emo teenagers came up and kept standing by the door even though you could tell they were closed. After a while the lady let them in, but I just had to laugh. Then we walked all over again and got to see all the little girls going clubbing wobbling along in thier mini-skirts and high-heels. Too funny.

Then we stayed up until about 4 am talking with my roommate's mom and got up at about 9 am and drove back home. The drive was much more exciting in the day light. Well now I am going to have to ignore the creepers talking to me about not being about the get scholarships and close up shop!

This is the Beginning of a Beautiful Freindship

Today was the first day of spring semester '09 and it wasn't terribly exciting, sadly. I didn't have class until noon so I got to sleep in, that’s always fun, but I did ride the bus to campus today and of course it was standing room only (being the first day of classes and all) Luckily I only almost fell over twice. I felt bad because I got stuck standing in one of the places that didn't have a vertical bar, so I was standing there with my arm above this chick's head and I kept shifting around (and thus bumping into her) because buses are scary and jerk around a lot. And then she got up at the first stop and we thought she was getting off, so we sat down in her seat, but in actuality she was letting someone else get off, so then I felt doubly bad. Fortunately other seats opened up.

After that adventure I went to my first class of the day at noon! Did I mention I don't have class until noon?! heh. But that class was fun, it was in the same room as its prerequisite was last semester and had pretty much the same people in it, so it felt like the same class, except that it was missing Andy, whose just about the most awesome prof. ever! Also my RA was in that class, which was kinda weird, but kinda cool. He's also in the same physics class as me. I'm beginning to think that maybe he's stalking me. Or wait! Maybe I'm the one stalking him! Gah!
Well after that I ran down the hill to Sloan and had another Comp Sci class, which was interesting to say the least. It was one of those classes that everyone in the major takes and everyone knows each other, and when you take it out of the normal order that people take their classes in, you end up being the only one in the class who knows no one else. That's kinda really lame. Well ok, I knew a few of the people because I had met them at my boyfriend’s place, but I don't actually know them, know them, ya know?
I also had physics today which was packed. I had to run all the way across campus in the 10 minute break we got and by the time I got to Webster there were only a few seats left, so I sat way up in the back, it wasn't until about half way through the lecture that I found the people I had signed up for the class with and saw they had an open seat next to them :( But the lecture was definitely interesting, to say the least. There was far too many demonstrations that involved the rubbing of rods...

Other than that, these last few days before classes started have been a blast. I got to do wild and crazy things with my roommates. We played some DDR and had a sleep over in the lounge while watching Waterworld (during which I was a loser and fell asleep) I was also forced to play some Halo 1 with my boyfriend. He's convinced that I will someday be able to play through it on Legendary... He just doesn't seem to understand that games with guns and I don't really get along. Yes, I am terrible at first person shooters. But I had to play, and I came in last place every round. Although it was a bit unfair, it was me and him versus three other people who were all pretty good at it. But it was still pretty fun. One map we played had a tank. I actually got pretty good at defending our base with it, heh. But I still was epic fail at actually killing anyone... Then my boyfriend’s roommate got pretty drunk and started harassing me until I played some crystal quest on their old Macintosh computer and/or gave him a high five or a hug.... awkward.

So now I am just sitting at work. I always seem to find myself blogging while I'm at work, maybe its because I have so much free time that should be spent studying, who knows. Sadly I have to close the lab tonight, mega lame... But I've had fun these last couple of days, I've tried to become a social butterfly, or caterpillar, or whatever, and am gonna try and survive the next couple of weeks!

Google the answer to life, the universe, and everything!

Well its that time again, the New Year. (Gee that was lame, why did I start my first blog of the year with that?) To get the cheesy stuff out of the way, it seems like this year just flew by (probably because of aforementioned reasons) But over all I think it went pretty good. Lots of great things happened, met a lot of people, and learned a few things. Hopefully next year will be even better. As for my new year resolutions, I made one a few years back to never make another new years resolution and I just can't break that one.

Posts have been a bit lacking due to the fact that it is the holidays and I have been constantly bombarded with requests to do things with my family (crazy I know!). I just haven't had much time. Its sad, I've only been home for a few days and I'm already wanting to go back to school. Oh well, just one more week and then I am free from my family. Not that I don't love my family, but sometimes they can be a little annoying.

Other than the terrors of driving over the pass on Christmas day to pick up my sister at the airport and forgetting that it was 10pm Christmas night and almost every restaurant was closed, my holidays have been pretty uneventful. We managed to walk up and down the airport about 10 times looking for somewhere to eat after our 4 hour long drive to the west side. Well, I guess that wasn't all the exciting stories I have. Two days ago I was forced to drive my family around to all the local wineries while they got drunk out of their minds wine tasting. That was funny for about the first hour, then it just got obnoxious. Although, watching my sister get wasted before noon was pretty funny. We went to two wineries before lunch and no one told my sister that you don't have to drink the entire glass they give you. So when we got out of the car to go to McDonald's she could barely walk!

Also, last night we went out and played some guitar hero III, which I found out I don't like as much as rock band, the singing part isn't as forgiving. :\ And since I never owned guitar hero I such at the guitar part and always get put on singing, which I am not very good at... but before we left we stopped at the clearwater starbucks, which is by far the best in the TC. And when we went there (at 10 o'clock at night) there was this hilarious barista there that I had never seen before (I boviously dont go there enough) But he was just so hyper and excited to be making coffee for us. I think he was way to excited to be working New Year's Eve. But I promised I would talk about him in my blog, so I am. It was truely hilarious. And if I was out until 3am last night I probably would have remembered more of his witty observations.

Well that is all for now. I think I will head off and try and do something productive today, but I can't make any promises!
