Dining Center Trays Do Not Make Good Sleds

So its come down to the last week of the semester. Things have been absolutely crazy. Time, it seems, has just flown by. Maybe its that I've had so much more fun this semester as opposed to the last two, or maybe its because I've met so many new people, but it seems like we just started the semester a couple of weeks ago. But here I am, avoiding studying for finals, again.
The other day it finally decided to be winter down here. It was strange because usually by mid-November we have had at least a little snow and are suffering through freezing temperatures. But this year it had stayed in the pleasant 50's for most of November and December, but just this weekend it dropped to below freezing and we had 5-6 inches of snow dropped on us. Its like overnight it decided to be winter. So of course we went out the other day and had some fun in the snow. There's a great hill right behind our building that would have been perfect for sledding (if we had any sleds, that is). So, since we only had dining hall trays (which contrary to popular belief, make crappy sleds) my roommates decided it was just more fun to roll down the hill. I decided to abstain from this activity because I didn't want to look like a dork. But after a while my sense of social shame disappeared and I tried it. It was actually way too much fun. You have no control over where you are going or how fast you are getting there and you end up screaming for your life because it is terrifying and fun at the same time. After rolling around in the snow, making several snow angles, and watching my room mates rape each other we decided that it was too cold and took a journey to the mart to get some food before returning home and warming up. When we got back to the room we took some warm showers, ate some delicious top ramen and played some video games, what better way to spend a snowy Sunday afternoon? When I was a kid we always ate top ramen and crackers after playing in the snow, so it was especially fun and reminiscent of the good old days. Sadly though, the snow was quite dry and not very good for making snowballs or snowmen (which I really wanted to do) but it was fun to just fling the powder at people. It was the kind of snow that sticks to every surface of your body and freezes into a layer of ice coating all your clothes. Luckily I was wearing two pairs of pants and three shirts, so I didn't get too cold.

The worst part about the snow though, had to be walking up B-Street. B-street is this terribly steep road that I walk up a lot and is hard enough to not fall on when there is no snow. Luckily I've only fallen once this semester, but I almost went down about 20 times walking down B-street the other day.

Well next week should be interesting, I have three finals and one paper due and tomorrow there is supposed to be a high of 4 degrees, yes 4. Should make driving home in a week very interesting seeing how it is supposed to stay below freezing for the week and its also supposed to snow again on Thursday, great. Well, now I guess I have successfully put off doing anything productive and should go study for the two exams I have tomorrow. Or I should write my paper that is due Wednesday seeing as all day tomorrow I will be going from taking an exam to work to taking another exam, one right after another from 10 am to 9 pm, fun!

Shifts in the Universe Really Throw Things Off

So remember the other week when Venus and Jupiter aligned with the moon to make that frowney face, well I think some force in the cosmos shifted and things have begun to change, or maybe go back to the way they were. See I had several good friends in high school that I could say I was part of a group with and we had many good times, but when our senior year and subsequently college came around, many of these dear friends just seemed to fall out of contact with me. Its not that we weren't friends anymore or that we had gotten into fights, its just that we had drifted apart, we went to different schools, met different friends, and just stopped seeing each other.

But recently many of these old acquaintances have started up conversations with me, or dropped me a message on Facebook. Also, lately I have been remembering all the old inside jokes and good times we had in high school. So maybe that thing with the stars really did mess something up. Now, I'm not usually one for the zodiac and horoscopes and stuff, but it really does seem bizarre that all of a sudden, and I mean over the course of about a week, I have had several old high school friends contact me after a year of silence. If you ask me, I think there might be something up...

I Think I Need to Take a Trip to Funtown

Lately I have been remembering all the inside jokes we had in high school and it is very disappointing due to the fact that no one here knows about them. So when I tell my roommates on Saturday night that I am going out to study some mythology and get blank stares I can only sigh and say "nevermind". No one knows the Techi Dance or that it was the Tuesday Song that came before the Friday Song or what I really want when I say I need to get some math books. Avoiding the Cassette Disc has become more of a challenge and no one laughs when I talk about putting my hands in my pockets.

Other than taking trips down memory lane, not much else has happened in the last week. Just trying to get ready for exams. Next week is dead week and then its finals, should be interesting. Tonight though a bunch of us are going to go and see The Dark Knight which is being played by the school. I'm excited, I really liked it and only got to see it once in the theater. After that, I think I get to spend this weekend making a game for my CS class, that should be interesting, mostly because I don't really understand how Texas Hold 'em works... oh wells.

Well right now my roommates are playing DDR and I think I might need to join them, I really love DDR, maybe because it reminds me of my childhood. I also recently got Super Smash Bros. for my Gamecube which I found at home over Thanksgiving. And I forgot how few good multiplayer games there are for it, it was sad. What is not sad however, is the "ass clap". The other night we were watching HBO late at night (which is when they show pr0n) and they were playing this one show where they were explaining how this one brothel worked, and at one point the house mother was showing all the whores how to dance and stuff and she was explaining the "ass clap". You just stand with your hands on the bed, kinda bent over and you turn both your feet like you are putting out a cigarette butt. When done properly, your butt cheeks clap together. It was truely horrifying. The best part was when a guy walked into the suite about 5 seconds after one of my roommates changed the channel. We just had to laugh.
